Our Work
The Generational Roots Healing Clinics are sacred community spaces where ancestral wisdom and collective care come alive. Rooted in the belief that healing belongs to the people, these clinics are always free, accessible, and woven directly into the neighborhoods we serve. Here, we honor the medicine of our lineages and the practices that colonization tried to silence, restoring them to their rightful place in our communities.
Each clinic brings together a circle of gifted healers—herbalists, energy workers, bodyworkers, elders, and cultural practitioners—who share their medicine openly and generously. We uplift and celebrate these healers, making sure their gifts are not only witnessed but also honored as vital threads in the fabric of our collective well-being. Participants are welcomed into a space of tenderness, empowerment, and reciprocity, where they can receive care, learn, and remember that they are never alone on their healing journey.
Generational Roots is more than a clinic—it is a movement of remembrance, resilience, and restoration. In these gatherings, we nourish not only the body, mind, and spirit, but also the bonds of community. Together, we are replanting what was uprooted, ensuring that future generations inherit healing traditions, not just wounds.
A Moment To Breathe...

The Generational Roots Healing Clinics were created as a response to the exhaustion and neglect so many of us carry from being overworked, undercared for, and stretched thin by the demands of daily life. These clinics offer a sacred pause—a chance for our people to breathe deeply, to rest into themselves, and to remember what it feels like to be tended to with love. Within these spaces, community care is not just spoken of, it is lived: vulnerability is welcomed, release is honored, and every person is held with compassion. They are moments of return, where healing is not rushed or transactional, but a gentle remembering that we all deserve care, rest, and the embrace of community.
Plants, The Original Medicine
The Generational Roots Healing Clinics also roots people back into the embrace of nature, reminding us that the earth has always offered medicine for our healing. Through our Mood Garden station, we have shared the joy of tending and receiving, gifting over 1,200 plants and mood gardens in the past three years alone. Each offering is an invitation to nurture not only the plants, but also the spirit within. Free herbal bundles are lovingly distributed so community members can step into their own care, carrying home the teachings and medicine of the plants. Alongside other healing modalities, these practices rekindle the sacred relationship between people and the natural world, reminding us that healing is always within reach when we return to the wisdom of the earth.

Cause Sometimes You Can't Self-Care
Community care is at the heart of the Generational Roots Healing Clinics because we know that sometimes you don’t have the capacity for self-care, and in those moments it is community that carries you. Society and colonialism have taught us to tend to our wounds alone, to heal in silence and seclusion, but our ancestral ways remind us that healing has always been collective. In community care, we are reminded that we do not have to carry everything by ourselves—that our burdens can be lightened when we are witnessed, held, and nurtured together. These clinics are a reclamation of that truth: that our healing deepens when it is shared, when care is woven between us, and when we come together to remember that belonging itself is medicine.
Remembrance
The Generational Roots Healing Clinics call us back to the ancestral practices that have always sustained our people—ways of tending the body, spirit, and land that reach far deeper than surface-level wellness. These practices remind us that true healing is not only physical, but also a healing of the soul, of memory, and of spirit. In returning to the medicines, rituals, and wisdom passed down through generations, we mend what has been fractured by disconnection and colonization. Here, healing is a sacred act of remembrance, a weaving back together of who we are and where we come from, so that we may walk forward rooted and restored.
